Vice President Accounting is the head of accounting in the organisation. Responsible to the director and managing a team including some managers.

Consequently, they are looking to bring on board a dynamic Vice President of Accounting who can assist the business at a time of rapid growth and make a key contribution to the business.

Description

The Vice President of Accounting will be reporting to the Finance Director. You will be expected to control and monitor all aspects financial statements such as reporting, closing, budgeting, and forecasting. The successful candidate also responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and systems from time to time to monitor the organizations financial assets and provide complete and accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Constructing weekly and monthly internal reports, with detailed commentary around commercial implications

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure

• Adherence to local and international statutory requirements and communicating it to the head office as well

• Prepare and review project cost analysis

• Managing and supervising managers and staffs

• Responsible for developing accounting systems from time to time

• Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner

• Responsible for risk management and contract reviews

• Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts, defining accounting policies and procedures

• Introduction and implementation of cost saving initiatives which will impact the bottom line of the business

Profile

Other key requirements include:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required; postgraduate degree preferred
• This is not a learning position but a chance to prove your ability
• Ideally you will have begun your career in a top tier audit firm before making the move into industry
• A minimum 4 years experience in managerial position (accounting)
• Min. of 10 years of experience in Accounting
• Have stayed in current company for the past 4 years unless you have a very solid reason of leaving
• Excellent in Accounting
• Experience will multicurrency transaction

• Ideally you will need to be an assertive individual

• Excellent commercial awareness and analysis skills

• Excellent communication in English for Regional reporting
