Diam-diam, Bos Kawasan Industri Suryacipta Telah Jalin Komunikasi dengan Tesla Inc

Thepresidentpost.id - Jakarta - PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk. siap menyambut perusahaan asal Amerika Serikat, Tesla. Produsen mobil listrik Tesla Inc. dikabarkan bakal membangun pabrik baterai di Indonesia.
Presiden Direktur PT Sura Semesta Internusa Tbk. Johannes Suriadjaja mengatakan, pihaknya telah membuat surat kepada pemilik Tesla Inc, Elon Musk untuk melihat site plan kawasan industri kami.
"Kami sudah melakukan komunikasi," kata Johannes saat acara groundbreaking Subang Smartpolitan di Gran Melia Hotel, Jakarta, Rabu (18/11/2020).
Diakui Johannes, pihaknya sangat siap menyambut kedatangan perusahaan asal Amerika Serikat tersebut. "Jika mereka serius, kita akan siapkan semuanya," jelasnya.
Sebelumnya, santer dikabarkan CEO Tesla Elon Musk bakal membuka pabrik baterai di Batang, Jawa Tengah.
Musk menilai Indonesia sebagai tempat yang paling baik untuk mengembangkan baterai karena memiliki cadangan nikel terbanyak di dunia. Adapun, nikel disebutnya menjadi tantangan terbesar untuk mendapatkan baterai bervolume tinggi.
Direktur Jenderal Industri Logam, Mesin, Alat Transportasi dan Elektronika (ILMATE) Kemenperin Taufiek Bawazier menyatakan kehadiran Tesla diharapkan mendukung percepatan pengembangan mobil listrik di Indonesia.
"Kami berharap Tesla masuk di Batang, Jawa Tengah, katanya berminat," ujar Taufiek.
