The Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan Performs Integrated Services for Indonesian Citizens/PMIs in Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam

Thepresidentpost.id - Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam – More than 100 Indonesian citizens / PMI in the city of Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam enlivened the "Consular, Immigration and Employment Services" event, June 10-11 2023, at the V-Plaza Hotel Kuala Belait.
Carried out by the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan to help Indonesian citizens/PMI who need services in the consular, immigration, and employment fields.

In addition to integrated services, the Indonesian Embassy in BSB also provides counseling and outreach in the consular, legal and employment fields to Indonesian citizens/PMI in Kuala Belait.
The socialization was opened by Irwan Iding, Chargé d'Affaires ai and continued with discussions with speakers namely the Coordinator of Protocol and Consular Functions, Labor Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in BSB, Representative of Bank Rakyat Indonesia in Brunei and lawyers from Yusof Halim & Partner, a law firm in Brunei who is a partner of the Indonesian Embassy in BSB in resolve cases involving PMI.
"This socialization is very important, especially for PMI friends to understand the procedures and laws that apply in Brunei. The goal is that there are no more PMI friends who are affected by legal problems in Brunei," concluded Irwan Iding.
Integrated service activities outside the city like this are routine activities held by the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan. This effort to pick up the ball is very beneficial for Indonesian citizens / PMI who do not have the time flexibility to arrange documents at the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan.
"We who are far from Bandar (Seri Begawan) are greatly helped by this kind of service. The Indonesian Embassy should do it once every three months," suggested Rita, a PMI from Kuala Belait.
The city of Kuala Belait is located about 115 km west of Bandar Seri Begawan. There are 4,216 Indonesian citizens/PMIs living and working in Kuala Belait and its surroundings as laborers, domestic workers, restaurant servers, mechanics, sailors and professional workers in the oil and gas sector.
This integrated service activity is also utilized by the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) and the Overseas Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) of Brunei Darussalam by providing socialization regarding the Presidential and Legislative Elections which will be held on 14 February 2024.
PPLN urges Indonesian citizens/PMIs present to register immediately as election participants, for those who have not, and update their data, for those who have registered. Meanwhile, Panwaslu invites the public to jointly oversee the implementation of fair and just elections.
