President Jokowi Delivers Speech at Nusantara Building in Traditional Tanimbar Attire
Thepresidentpost.id - President Joko Widodo impressed the participants whilst delivering his speech at Nusantara Building on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023. At this important moment, President Jokowi wore traditional attire from Tanimbar Islands, Maluku Province.
President Jokowi wore a white shirt decorated with woven cloth with crisscross motifs in maroon and black. The Kilun Loan flower motif on the woven fabric symbolised the important role of women in a man's life. Meanwhile, the tamata (human) motif on the woven fabric symbolised the dignity and worth of every human being.
Furthermore, President Jokowi also wore a cloth covering which symbolised the responsibility and might of a king or leader. The presence of a mamuat (necklace) around his neck is also inseparable from symbolism, symbolised the sincerity in holding the promise and mandate of leadership.
Meanwhile, President Jokowi's wife, Iriana looked elegant in a yellow kebaya. Her appearance was even more dazzling with matching coloured cloth and scarves.
The arrival of President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana at the Nusantara Building was warmly welcomed by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin with Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin. Together, they entered the Plenary Hall to convey this important moment.
In his speech, President Jokowi delivered Performance Reports of State Institutions in commemoration of the Indonesian 78th Anniversary. Next time, President Jokowi is also scheduled to deliver a speech regarding the Government's Explanation of the 2024 State Budget Bill and its Financial Notes.
