President Jokowi Invites ASEAN Ambassadors on the MRT on ASEAN’s 56th Anniversary

Thepresidentpost.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo invited the ambassadors of ASEAN countries and partners to ride on the MRT during the commemoration of the 56th ASEAN Anniversary, commonly known as ASEAN DAY (8/8).

President Jokowi and the group rode the MRT from Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout Station to the ASEAN Station. During the trip, the President appeared to be casually chatting with ambassadors and delegates from ASEAN member countries.

Upon their arrival at ASEAN Station, the President and the ambassadors continued on foot to the ASEAN Building to commemorate the 56th ASEAN Anniversary.

The arrival of the President at HI Roundabout Station at 08:30 Indonesian Western Time (WIB) began with the launch of the Special Edition "MRT ASEAN 56 and MRT Ride" Multiple Trip Card. After he tapped in, President Jokowi introduced this special edition card.

This special edition card was the result of collaboration between MRT Jakarta and ASEAN to celebrate the 56th ASEAN Day which is themed “The 56th ASEAN Day: Epicentrum of Growth". The card is also a symbol of MRT Jakarta's role as ASEAN's official transport partner during Indonesia's chairmanship of the organization.

This activity also involved Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, Foreign Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
