Thepresidentpost.id - Windhoek, Namibia - In an effort to support the achievements of Indonesian diplomacy in the African Region, Advisor to the Minister on Management, Acep Somantri, encourages synergy between the Indonesian Embassy and Indonesian Honorary Consuls in accreditation countries. This was revealed by the Advisor in a virtual coordination meeting with all Indonesian Representatives in the African Region, on Monday (21/11).

During the meeting, Advisor Acep Somantri mentioned that the number of consuls that have been spread around the world needs to be optimised. "Currently, there are 109 honorary consuls spread across 89 countries under 51 Indonesian missions. There are currently 30 honorray consuls in Africa. The consuls need to be further optimised to support the achievements and performance of Indonesian diplomacy," said the Expert Staff.

Ambassadors and representatives of the Indonesian Embassies in the African Region welcomed the Coordination Meeting with the Advisor. They believed that the presence of Honorary Consul strengthens Indonesia's representation in Africa as well as assists the Representative in carrying out the tasks of protecting Indonesian citizens.

Advisor Acep Somantri himself is currently in Windhoek, Namibia, for the inauguration of the Indonesian Consul to Angola, Vicente Inacio. In addition, the Advisor is also scheduled to hold meetings with several partners of the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek, creating strategic opportunities to expand Indonesia's diplomatic network in the region.
